Question 1

What is RSO (Rick Simpson Oil)?

Accepted Answer

RSO stands for Rick Simpson Oil, a highly concentrated full-spectrum cannabis extract containing 60-90% THC and complete cannabinoid profiles. It's named after Rick Simpson, who pioneered the extraction method. RSO preserves all plant compounds including cannabinoids, terpenes, and plant waxes for maximum therapeutic benefit.

Question 2

What is FECO (Full Extract Cannabis Oil)?

Accepted Answer

FECO is Full Extract Cannabis Oil, a professionally produced full-spectrum extract similar to RSO but with more consistent lab-tested potency and quality control. FECO is typically produced in commercial facilities with standardized extraction methods, making it more reliable for consistent dosing.

Question 3

What's the difference between RSO and FECO?

Accepted Answer

The main differences are production consistency (FECO is lab-tested and standardized), availability of cannabinoid ratios (FECO offers more variety), and production scale. Both are full-spectrum extracts, but FECO is generally considered more refined and quality-controlled.

Question 4

How much RSO/FECO should I take?

Accepted Answer

Start with a very small dose: 5-10mg THC (about a grain of rice) once daily, preferably in the evening. Increase gradually every 3-4 days by 5mg until you find your optimal dose. Most people find relief at 15-40mg daily, but individual needs vary significantly.

Question 5

How do I use RSO or FECO?

Accepted Answer

Common methods include: sublingual (under tongue for 90 seconds), oral in capsules, mixed with food, or topical application. Sublingual provides fastest onset (15-45 minutes), while oral takes 1-2 hours but lasts longer (6-8 hours).

Question 6

When is the best time to take RSO?

Accepted Answer

Evening is ideal for most people due to the relaxing effects. However, some use it in the morning with lower doses. Find what works for your schedule and tolerance. Consistency matters more than timing.

Question 7

Can I take RSO daily?

Accepted Answer

Yes, many people take RSO daily for chronic pain, sleep support, or wellness maintenance. Daily consistent use is actually recommended for building therapeutic effects. Some users take periodic breaks to manage tolerance.

Question 8

Is RSO/FECO legal?

Accepted Answer

Legality depends on your location. RSO/FECO containing THC is legal for medical use in 38 US states and for recreational use in 24 states. Federal law still restricts cannabis, so verify your local laws before purchasing. In Canada, it's legal nationwide.

Question 9

Will RSO show up on a drug test?

Accepted Answer

Yes, RSO contains THC and will show positive on standard drug tests. THC can be detected in urine for 2-3 weeks with regular use, longer with heavy use. If drug testing is required, CBD oils are a non-intoxicating alternative.

Question 10

Is RSO safe to use long-term?

Accepted Answer

RSO is generally considered safe for long-term use by healthy adults without contraindications. Cannabis is non-addictive compared to opioids. Some concerns exist about heavy regular use and cognition, but moderate use is well-tolerated. Always consult healthcare providers.

Question 11

Can I drive after taking RSO?

Accepted Answer

No. RSO significantly impairs driving ability through altered perception, slower reaction time, and coordination issues. Never drive or operate machinery after taking RSO. Wait at least 6-8 hours before driving.

Question 12

How should I store RSO or FECO?

Accepted Answer

Store in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat. Refrigeration extends shelf life. Keep in an airtight container. Properly stored RSO lasts 6-12 months. Avoid extreme temperatures which degrade cannabinoids and terpenes.

Question 13

How do I know if a product is quality?

Accepted Answer

Look for: current third-party lab testing (within 6-12 months), clear cannabinoid percentages, contaminant test results (negative for pesticides/heavy metals), professional packaging, and reputable company information. Lab testing is non-negotiable.

Question 14

What should I look for in lab testing?

Accepted Answer

Essential tests include cannabinoid profile (THC/CBD percentages), terpene analysis, pesticide screening (negative), heavy metal testing (negative), and microbial testing. The lab should be licensed and independent. Always verify COA (Certificate of Analysis) matches the product batch.

Question 15

What are common side effects?

Accepted Answer

Mild side effects may include dry mouth, dry eyes, dizziness, drowsiness, and increased appetite. These are usually dose-dependent and decrease with regular use. Serious side effects are rare but can include anxiety or rapid heart rate if doses are too high.

Question 16

Can RSO interact with medications?

Accepted Answer

Possible interactions exist with blood thinners (warfarin), heart medications, sedatives, immunosuppressants, and anti-seizure medications. Always consult your healthcare provider about potential interactions with your specific medications before using RSO.

Question 17

Is RSO safe during pregnancy?

Accepted Answer

Cannabis use during pregnancy is not recommended due to potential impacts on fetal development. Consult with your healthcare provider. Breastfeeding mothers should also avoid RSO as THC passes into breast milk.
